Hi y’all!

As I’m sure you can tell this website is in constant flux as I simultaneously build it and learn what HTML is. I’ll be doing what I can to keep it up and running as I add features. I thought I would use this little journal update to talk about my hopes and dreams for this website, as well as give a few life updates.

Site Updates to Come

I’m planning on leaving the aesthetics of this site alone while I work through adding a couple of features. Immediately I’m going to be rolling out:
  • A webring
  • A photo gallery
  • Music and art documentation
  • A tutorial section
  • A resources page (mostly for trans stuff, but also more)
  • Guestbook

As well as the following additions to my homepage:
  • Weekly polls
  • Weekly music and book recs
  • Daily mood post
  • Maybe some generative stuff about Loch Ness
I’m going to work at knocking this stuff out, while make some changes to the layout of the website to be more accommodating of all this additional content. Hopefully, it will all be done by the end of the week!

What I’m Working On

I’ve got a few things in the works right now that I’m hoping to finish and upload by the end of this year. I’m including some dates for when I’m expecting it to be done when I have it, but, you know, I can’t be held accountable for time stuff as a Lazarus Taxon.

Writing:
  • An essay on Majoras Mask (11/27/24)
  • An essay on Wendy Carlos (12/25/24)
  • My AOTY List for 2025
  • An essay on noise throughout history (2/1/25)

Echolocations:
  • See above for AOTY stuff
  • A journal entry on books on Nessie (12/1/24)
  • Probably a bunch of impulsive stuff
Tutorials:
  • A guide to this website and the code it’s built on (12/31/25)
  • Lilypad and generative composing (1/15/25)
  • Tarantula Husbandry Guide (2/15/25)
Music:
  • The Yellow Room (Announcement in January)

And probably more in the form of little pieces of content, old stuff I’m moving on to this site, and impulsive creative projects that I come up with last second and stay up until 3am (much to my girlfriend’s chagrin) working on.

Fabric, etc.

I’ve been working a little bit on fabric stuff lately! On top of dipping my flippers into the fabric of C O D E and H T M L, I’ve been learning how to embroider and do some light sewing. Some of its silly and some of it is ambitious. I thought it might be nice to share where I’m at and where I’m hoping to ascend to:

a photo an embroidery of a golden orb weaver, a large yellow true spide, sitting in the beginnings of a web. The embroidery is on a piece of cotton fabric and is spread out in an embroidery hoop Embroidery: I’ve had this idea for a orb weaver dress for a few months now, and hit the ground running making a big golden orb weaver design on an old ratty shirt. I finished the spider and am currently working through its web. I was initially inspired by this old TDOV essay / illustration I made which you can find here. After I finish up this shirt, I’m going to move on to this used black button up T-shirt dress I got. The current plan is to make a web like embroidered shawl along the back and then add the following orb weavers to various points on the back and front of the garment. I’m feeling pretty good with this, considering the success of my first piece of embroidery, and I’m looking forward to sharing the final product.

a photo of Nessie wearing her new craft jacket with its first patch, a cotton patch that has a print of two scissors scissoring and says 'gay' underneath Craft jacket: additionally, I got this jean jacket over the weekend at a little queer friendsgiving craft fair and this very cute patch from Aliyah Wallace. So, I’ve decided I’m going to make this jacket my little embroidery and patch craft project. The end goal should hopefully be super messy, eccentric, and probably not suitable for work. I.e. the gayest imaginable jacket.

I’m having a lot of fun with this low-stake creative aside, and I’m looking forward to switching from looking for new cute clothing to exclusively up-cycling and making clothes. Just abandon the clothing industrial complex all together!

a photo of Nessie wearing her new big glasses with an extreme amount of lense flare In other news I got new glasses and its cold out these days!

That’s all for now! Keep a look out across the briny waters of this here loch, and maybe you’ll see a hump or two.

*distant echoing calls akin to a fog horn*
